VeteransClick.com is the unique philanthropic project and vision of founder and CEO Craig Romero. Romero has enlisted a talented team of technology, marketing and public relations experts who are passionate about supporting hospitals in America, while making it fun and easy! Based in Santa Fe, New Mexico VeteransClick.com brings together the distinct worlds of technology and generosity .
Romero believes that by building a new type of search engine for Internet users, he can build a new source of funding for public hospitals. Each quarter, VeteransClick donates 50 percent of its gross revenue directly to participating veterans' hospitals, allocating the money to individual veterans' hospitals in relation to the number of visitors that each hospital receives. Users choose their state during their first visit to the www.veteransclick.com home page and then they will select their veterans' hospital of choice. From this point, 50% of all activity on each hospital search page will be donated to that veterans' hospital every quarter.
Unlike other sites that support hospitals by contributing a percentage of proceeds from consumer purchases, visitors don’t need to buy anything at VeteransClick. All revenue comes from advertising in the form of pay-per-click ads on search-results pages; and national advertisers that implement targeted ad campaigns.
"Veterans' hospitals need to cover capital expenses out of there hospital operational budgets and they need funds to continue these programs," Romero said. "Veterans' hospitals can use funds generated from VeteransClick to pay these expenses, so the operational monies can be used towards operational costs."
Marketing Director, Katrina Boschenko, explained that VeteransClick expects to become the preferred search engine for at least 2 percent of Americans in the site’s first year of operations, based on traffic at other, smaller search sites. “That 2 percent translates to 6 million visitors daily,” she noted. “Assuming two searches a day, we calculate that our monthly contribution to hospitals across all 50 states would be about $2.7M or $8.1M per quarter. Add in the revenue generated from our targeted advertising programs and that number increases significantly.”
“VeteransClick is 100 percent focused on hospitals,” Romero affirms, “This is a way for Americans to give dollars to hospitals without even pulling out their wallets.”
